The most effective method to Invest $1,000 - Essay Example This change might be an expansion or lessening. In the event that it expands, it might surpass the measure of EMV. Notwithstanding, if the probabilities are not 50/50, for example 40/60 or 60/40, the EMV changes. Subsequently to sum up the examination, there are two factors which may influence Jim's choice to move. These incorporate the probabilities of the possibility of finding a more lucrative line of work and the possibility of prompting a lower paying occupation and the current compensation (Jones, 1999). Jim's choice hypothetically relies upon the measure of EMV contrasted with his present pay. Deciding upon the adjustments in the factors which may produce results, both the choices of remaining in his present place of employment and moving might be a decent other option. On the off chance that the normal worth or EMV of the choice of moving is more noteworthy than his present pay, at that point it would likely best for Jim to face the challenge and move. In the opposite, on the off chance that the EMV of moving is not as much as his present compensation, at that point the choice of remaining in his present place of employment would be better. All things considered, his choice must include a far reaching investigation of the probabilities of getting a higher or a lower paying occupation.

The Global Economy Has Changed Over Time - 953 Words

The global economy has been evolving over time; there are patterns that have emerged which indicate similarities and differences between the past and the present century. In this paper I will analyze how the global economy has changed and what contributed to those changes. During the 19th century the cost of transportation decreased as a result of innovation. Income per capita nearly doubled across all classes in America and in Europe during the gilded age (1870-1900). Advancements in technology radically changed trade; with the introduction of the railway system and the use of steamships, the cost of transportation decreased. The time required for goods to reach the market was reduced, and the cost of those goods was reduced as a result of the decreased shipping cost. Technology advancements and the reduction of transportation costs drove increased trade of goods and of raw materials. The standards of living rose as did the wages of people because of international trade, however, th ose changes were most evident in the industrial countries. â€Å"By the end of the nineteenth century, economic growth had been sufficiently rapid in the industrial countries that the world had bifurcated in terms of living standards and rates of economic growth† (Krueger, 2006) Prior to the trade restriction and tariff changes, which occurred in the 20th century the standard of living was not significantly different between countries. Security organizations and counterterrorism Free Essays

It is explicitly declared in the manual that Muslim religious goals and quests can not be attained except by force though bombings, assassinations, as well as wanton slaughter of human beings. Anti-terror professionals are thus warned that it is almost futile to try to engage such extremists in any from of dialogue since it has been implanted into their conscious selves that only force and aggression can yield fruits. Counterterrorism efforts should thus not have discussion as one of the ways to manage terrorism since the militias are not responsive to dialogue. We will write a custom essay sample on Security organizations and counterterrorism or any similar topic only for you Order Now The manual declares that Muslims can only resist the alleged condition of unawareness by being united and conforming to Muslim religious ideals. Counterterrorist experts are thus informed to be vigilant and wary of Islamic groupings since such are the ideal places where Islamic militias congregate, strategize, and share ideas. The terrorism guidebook offers three key principles necessary for establishing Islamic military organizations, which include: organization advisory committee and commander; soldiers; and a clearly-defined plan. This informs counterterrorism experts that Islamic terrorists are well-organized groups with a clear hierarchical power struc6ture. It is thus prudent to carry out a systematic dismantling of such organizations for effective handling of terrorism. Such measures would include firsts identifying the actual persons involved in terror activities, from planners to implementers, and then directly dealing with individual persons (Terrorist Training Manual, 2000). Several requirements for the Islamic military organizations are listed including: counterfeit money and fake documents; apartments plus hiding quarters; means of communication; means of transport; ammunition and arms; information; and transport. This implies that such Islamists are well prepared and hence counterterrorism personnel ought to have superior preparedness and planning in order to effectively tackle terrorism. Among the missions of Islamic military organizations is to kidnap enemy documents, personnel, arms, and secrets. Counterterrorism experts are thus required to be vigilant in securing such entities at all times, particularly those belonging to nations which are ideological enemies with Islamic regimes. The assassination of overseas tourists and enemy personnel is another mission of Islamic militias. Counterterrorism should therefore seek to ensure the safety of tourists abroad by either offering guidelines on safe places to visit or issuing travel advisories if there is reason to fear for the safety of tourists while overseas. Another mission of Muslim jihadists is the spreading of rumors as well as issuing statements that incite the masses against he perceived enemy. Counterterrorism should thus aim to try to prevent the publication of such inciting statements, intercept and destroy them before they reach their target audience or destroy the places where they are produced. The jihadists as well have the mission of bombing and obliterating embassies plus attacking important financial centers. This calls for heightened and vigilant surveillance on the overseas facilities such as embassies and business premises owned by regimes which the Muslim jihadists consider as enemies. The jihadists also aim to blow up bridges linking cities with neighboring areas as one of their missions. It is vital for counterterrorism personnel to be on the lookout and secure vital bridges to avert any possible strikes. Recruits into the jihadist movement ought to be Muslims. This implies that counterterrorism personnel ought to concentrate on Muslim characters when managing terrorism. Members as well should be mature, that is of the age of majority. Counterterrorism should thus focus on mature Muslim persons when investigating terror activities. One requirement for membership is the ability and commitment top keep secrets even from the closest persons. Counterterrorism experts ought o be therefore aware that it is hard to extract information from such terrorists and hence devise efficient methods of getting such information (Terrorist Training Manual, 2000). Regarding operational moneys, it is stated that they are to be split into 2 parts, with one segment going into schemes that provide monetary returns, while the other is kept to be spent only in the course of operations. This informs counterterrorism experts that the jihadists operate decoy projects which they use to earn cash for furthering their military objectives. Therefore, any enterprises having Muslim connections ought to be fully investigated to establish their owners, financiers and beneficiaries. The jihadists’ photos on traveling documents ought not to have a beard according to the manual. This should inform counterterrorism experts that the old notion that Muslims and jihadists always wear beards should be discarded so as to be able to effectively investigate the activities of suspect Muslims. Agreements are to be rent4ed preferably on ground floors to permit easy escape as well as digging ditches. Counterterrorism experts should thus be on the lookout particularly for suspects who live on ground floors when investigating terrorism activities. Apartments are to be rented preferably within newly-developed localities because people in such areas generally do not know each other and hence strangers are not as easily identifiable as in older neighborhoods. Counterterrorism experts therefore should particularly carry out surveillance in such neighborhoods for any suspicious characters. Organization members are instructed to offer information that is bound to mislead security agencies when they discover that their telephone conversations are being tapped into. This further complicates the work of counterterrorism agencies since they ought to be wary of volunteer information that is purported to implicate militants. Proper vetting and scrutiny of any informer-derived information is important to make sure that security agencies do not fall into the tricks of the jihadists and hence end up unnecessarily wasting time and possible resources (Terrorist Training Manual, 2000). The guidebook states that training venues for Islamic military organizations ought t to be located far away from areas with may people. Counterterrorism agencies therefore have got to conduct searches for such training sites away from major cities and towns preferably in the countryside where there are few people residing therein. The Islamic organization generally avoids overcrowded place such as, train stations, cafes, and recreation places. Security and counterterrorism agencies ought to specifically target less crowded places when carrying out anti-terrorism activities. Members of the organization carrying out strike operations are instructed not to appear Muslim-like and if possible, to completely disguise themselves. This is a challenge for security and counter-terror agencies since it appears like it is pointless to target and investigate overt Muslims regarding terrorism. Priority should be placed on members of the public who do not have outward Muslim appearances. Fighters in the Muslim military organization are taught beforehand about the answers to provide to security forces in the event that they are intercepted. Security agencies thus ought to be a bit more creative and flexible regarding the questions they field to suspects during interrogations. Routine, standard, and typical questions ought to be avoided. Questions should be asked depending on the environment so as to gather useful facts and surprise the Islamists into disclosing valuable information. The guidebook contains instructions to the effect that surveillance vehicle number plates and make should be similar to those of target vehicles. This should appropriately inform security agencies to be cautious when trailing or attacking suspicious vehicles as innocent persons, with cars matching the terrorists’ vehicle, may be involved. The Islamic organization is seemingly using ciphers according to the guidebook. Security organizations and counterterrorism personnel ought to be well versed with the various systems of cipher text currently employed so as to accurately and speedily interpret information when it is intercepted to facilitate quick and appropriate action (Terrorist Training Manual, 2000). Members of the Islamic organization are instructed not to confess of their involvement with the jihadist movement if they get arrested and are brought to trial. Security agencies should be aware that such characters will not provide any useful information that could lead to the dismantling of the terrorist cells. Other methods of obtaining information, other than interrogation and questioning ought to be developed to ensure effective handling of the terrorists and their activities. Members are as well instructed to be observant, alert, and watchful of the places they are interrogated at, which mostly are security facilities, so as to relay information to the jihadist movement regarding the physical set up of such buildings. This should ring a bell in security circles and appropriate places of interrogation should be created to avoid letting the Islamic militia get to know the set up of government facilities in case they plan future attacks on the same. He also feels that there is the need for finding out the target market and there is the need for evolving with the latest technological aspect. Self-efficacy is explained as the belief of an individual as well as desire for achieving in an effective way specific targets as well as tasks. The attitude of an individual will be reflecting his or her desire for perceiving probable scopes. When there is the requirement towards the identification of opportunity recognition, two factors are contributing to opportunity recognition that is information as well as knowledge (Ward 2004). Novice entrepreneurs are having less amount of opportunity recognition in comparison to experienced entrepreneurs since, the latter is having the expectation of possessing higher knowledge (Shane 2000). There is the role of alertness in opportunity recognition as a distinctive preparedness for recognizing scopes when they are available. In this context, the factors that need to be focused on are considered to be prior knowledge, specific search strategies, social networks as well as other recognition that does the determination of the level of alertness of every individual (Vaghely 2010). The major three issues that are creating individual differences for perceiving the changing aspects are shifts in clarity, richness relating to content, as well as degree of focus regarding major traits associated with the content domain (Ronstadt 2000). One more issue that is affecting the process of opportunity recognition is associated with experience. The experienced entrepreneurs will be showing higher capability for recognizing scopes in comparison to the novice entrepreneurs, because of repeated circumstances that will be increasing the knowledge base regarding same kind of scopes. The entre preneurs are processing their thoughts through two methods, viz. Systematic analysis of the facts as well as by applying the heuristics. The various cognitive biases that are having a predominance within the entrepreneurs take into consideration the aspect of being overconfident, illusion of control, as well as representations (Ramos-Rodrguez 2010). The opportunity recognition is a constant method that provides assistance relating to the pre-start-up, start-up, survival as well as development relating to a venture and therefore, it is not considered being a one-time activity in the initiation of creating a venture. On the other hand, the type of scope identified as well as used might vary along the process. Self-efficacy is considered significant in respect of entrepreneurs for not only deciding towards choosing entrepreneurship but also in their steadiness for progressing in the creation of ventures. This is referring to the experience base as well as knowledge that will be preceding the creative journey. Concerning the aspect of opportunity recognition, preparation is referring to the background as well as experience that is brought by an entrepreneur to the process (Gaglio 2001). The sub-conscious scenario regarding incubation is highlighting the significance relating to intuition in respect of the creative method. Also, incubation is referring to the aspect of opportunity recognition method where an entrepreneur does the contemplation of an idea or a particular problem. On the other hand, it will not be referring to the conscious solving of problems or methodical evaluation (Fisher 2012). As incubation is referring to an ongoing process, insight is referring to a moment relating with recognition. In respect of opportunity recognition, three varied kinds of insights are being envisioned that might take place. Primarily, it is associated with experiencing the spontaneous or momentary identification of a business scope. Secondly, it is the situation when an individual is having the idea that will be solving the problem he/she has been taking into consideration. Thirdly, there is the representation of the moment when there occurs the availability of an idea with the help of social network (Fiet 2008). It has been found out that entrepreneurs having broader network of social contacts will be identifying more ideas as well as recognizing increasing scopes in comparison to entrepreneurs having lesser contacts. In respect of entrepreneurs, as a result, the insight phase might comprise of three varied kinds of insights. This is the phase relating to the process when analysis of insights occurs in respect of their viability. This is also considered to be the stage of verification as because it is involving research into whether an aspect is operational, also whether the entrepreneur is possessing the skills required for achieving it. In regard to the aspect of launching new ventures, evaluation is having the involvement of feasibility evaluation (Dew 2009). In this phase of the method, ideas are being tested through different types of investigation like preliminary testing of the market, analysing the financial viability as well as feedbacks from business associates. This is considered being the phase that will be testing the commitment as well as willingness of an entrepreneur for committing to the launch of a business (Corbett 2007). In this stage, the processes generally cease to be basically an individual as well as personal method and the scope is being subjected to the consideration by others. The entrepreneur is having the requirement of feedback from the knowledge experts as well as the marketplace concerning the aspect of business viability. This is the stage where there occurs the actualization of creative insights. In regard to the entrepreneurial business scope, elaboration will be representing the business planning method. In this stage, the workings out of various details are done (Chandler 2011). Kashif also feels that to become successful, there is the need for getting passionate, having faith, having an effective business model as well as being the best. Moreover, he feels its always about the execution and not only about the idea. Conclusion Opportunity recognition is the main aspect regarding entrepreneurship. Creativity is considered being a significant aspect relating to entrepreneurship. The potential entrepreneurs are required conversing more with their closed network groups in respect of recognizing the scopes. Self-efficacy as well as factors of motivation will not be influencing the aspect of opportunity recognition in any stage relating to entrepreneurs. The various cognitive biases that are having a predominance within the entrepreneurs take into consideration the aspect of being overconfident, illusion of control, as well as representations. Self-effic acy is considered significant in respect of entrepreneurs for not only deciding towards choosing entrepreneurship but also in their steadiness for progressing in the creation of ventures. From her pure happiness at Talbothay's Dairy, to the turning point of Tess's joy at the old D'Urberville house, to her most unforgiving stay at Flintcomb-Ash, to her final contentness before her death at Bramshurst Court, the reader sees atmospheric changes that diminish then climb back up. Hardy thoroughly demonstrates through his descriptions of her surroundings how Tess will feel while stationed in each place. After Tess's life has been torn apart by Alec D'Urberville she needs to seek refuge. By leaving her home town of Marlott, she is able to start her life anew. She escapes to the jovial atmosphere of Talbothay's Dairy. As Tess crosses over the ridge of the hill it seems as though she is switching worlds. Hardy's description portrays the field as "a billiard table of indefinite length" (Hardy 98) with "a carpeted level, which stretched to the east and the west as far as the eye could reach" (97). The land is described as being as limitless as Tess' joy. The area is plush and beautiful, and here, Tess is able to relax and be free of her past. Tess' "whimsical eye" (98)sees "vivid green moss" (98). This gives the area a childlike appeal, as though you can be young and happy while at Talbothay's Dairy. Tess feels warm as she watches the "shadows... with as much care over each contour as if it had been the profile of a Court beauty on a palace wall" (98). Even the cows have a majestic magnetism as the "white [of their horns] reflected the sunshine in dazzling brilliancy" (99). Talbothay's Dairy is glowing with joy and this warmth finds its way to a well-needing Tess. Tess is able to feel happy again and "that she really had laid a new foundation for her future. The conviction bred serenity" (101). This happy feeling continues throughout Tess' stay, as she remeets Angel, and falls in love. After their marriage, Tess and Angel go to live in an old D'Urberville house near Wellbridge Mill. As they are leaving Talbothay's Dairy they hear a cock crow. The crowd immediately thinks of the old wife's tale of an afternoon cock meaning bad luck. While they try to dismiss it saying that it's "not what you think: 'tis impossible!" (Hardy 202), it sets the backdrop for what is to come. The mood and setting upon their arrival to the D'Urberville house are ominous, continuing the cock's effect. Tess is depressed by the house, exclaiming "Those horrid women!" (Hardy 203) when she sees portraits of her ancestors. As the night grew longer "the restful dead leaves of the preceding autumn were stirred to irritated resurrection, and whirled about unwillingly, and tapped against the shutters. It soon began to rain" (Hardy 204). Tess' happiness begins to falter with the rain. She proceeds to tell Angel the story of her past, while "the ashes under the grate were lit by the fire vertically, like a torrid waste" (Hardy 211). Hardy describes the coals in the fire as having "a Last Day luridness" which penetrates to Tess, and results in her separating from Angel. This mysterious atmosphere is portrayed by Hardy in order to be a turning point and start the decrease of Tess' joy . As a result of her past, Angel leaves Tess, and Hardy sends her to work at Flintcomb-Ash. Flintcomb-Ash is shown as a brutally unforgiving place. It is through this dismal atmosphere that Hardy shows when Tess hits the bottom of her happiness. Even while Tess is heading towards Flintcomb-Ash Hardy shows the change. The 'air was dry and cold and the long cart-roads were blown white and dusty within a few hours after the rain" (263). Tess becomes part of the "stroke of raindrops, the burn of sunbeams, and the stress of winds. There is no passion in her now" (262). Tess finds herself approaching an area of "irregular chalk -table land" (263) compared to the lush, green fields of Talbothay's Dairy. She enters the "remains of a village... in a slight depression" (263). The land is horrid with its "stubborn soil" (264) and Tess realizes that "the walls [seem] to be the only friend she [has]" (264). It is appropriate that the village is filled with melancholy descriptions, as this is exactly how Tess feels.

Free Essays on On The Relevance And Merit Of Socrates Philosophy

On the Relevance and Merit of Socrates Philosophy Very seldom in history is there a figure so great that they transcend many cultures. This is especially true of a time in which there are few records left about the person. Such is the case with the philosopher Socrates. Socrates had a brand new way of philosophizing. It was not a quest in favor of wisdom for Socrates, but to discover the wisdom in others. In this paper I will discuss Socrates’ way of philosophizing from several viewpoints. First, I will address exactly what his brand of philosophy was. Secondly, I will analyze the legitimacy of his philosophy with arguments both for and against his unique style. I intend to prove that Socrates’ new method of philosophy and wisdom seeking is not only legitimate, but worthy of merit. Socrates’ philosophy was that of no other; he discovered wisdom by incorporating what is called the Socratic Method. This method of inquiry involved Socrates always asking questions of those individuals that were considered wise. He would ask them questions about their own beliefs so that he may get a better understanding of what it is that they taught or preached. Socrates claimed to know nothing at all and he was asking these wise people what the true answers were. His continuous questioning was only to weed out inconsistencies of the particular â€Å"wise person’s† thought process. Knowing what he did was a simple matter of observation; why he did those things was another matter. Socrates tells us why he chose a life of wisdom seeking in the Apology. While defending the nature of his human wisdom at court, Socrates tells of how he came upon this wisdom he claims to not possess. Socrates’ friend from youth, Chairephon, went to visit the Oracle at Delphi. He proceeded to ask the Oracle if any man was wiser than Socrates. Human genome Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Human genome - Term Paper Example One of the most contentious issues coming up over the next few years will surely be whether to allow human genomes to be patented. Human rights advocates are concerned that allowing patents will infringe on human dignity by giving permission to certain organizations to keep records of a person's genome records and is an invasion of privacy, sort of (Patrinos & Ansorge, 2005, p. 391). Human genome patents is shaping up as a huge social controversy because of its far-reaching implications on research such as those dealing with genetic defects that can cause inherited diseases. Patents are crucial to give encouragement to researchers so that their efforts will be amply rewarded, similar to the copyrights of authors and artists who want royalties for their creative talents. Patents in the context of medical research has effects on how well human beings can live their lives, whether disease-free or not, for example.

Proposal Argument Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Proposal Argument - Research Paper Example However, the war in Iraq has resulted into suffering and distraction of lives of the citizens. Furthermore, the incarceration of Saddam Hussein meant that terrorist threats from Iraq were no longer looming. Finally, no weapons of mass destruction were found in the country as earlier stated by the US. I propose the millennial solution in ending the war in Iraq. To start with, the millennials are the individuals that have grown up in the face of war in Iraq. They grew up experiencing their peers being shipped to fight in wars and also watching ‘Operation Iraqi Freedom’ on the various media platforms (Schwartz 65). Millenials have been known to put up vibrant battles against the war. By the time the war finally came to an end in 2011, the millennials that were middle school when the war began has come of age to watch the US soldiers set up the war operations and understand what was going on. Iraq is back in the news again as a militia organization referred to as the Islamic State of Iraq, ISIS, al-Sham among other names has spread across the southern and northern regions of the country. Unfortunately, with all the damage that has been going on, TV interviews and the debate on the internet has been missing the important contribution of millennials who are the individuals that grew up in the face of the war (Billitteri 34). The best solution that has been proposed is by getting the millenials more involved in the peace-keeping and finding a lasting solution for the war in Iraq. It has been observed that this generation did not vote for the war that started in 2003 or even plan for it. Nevertheless, they have paid a dear price for it. To start with, the war has taken the lives of approximately 4,500 millenials and cost the nation a figure estimated between $4 to $6 trillion (Billitteri 15). The war has also taken away the lives of more than 100,000 innocent civilians. Regrettably, there are global political leaders that have served as champions for the

Care of Confused Client | Case Study

Care of Confused Client | Case Study CARE OF A CONFUSED CLIENT CLIENT PROFILE Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus spread through body fluids and effects cells of the immune system called CD4 cells or T cells. HIV destroys these cells reducing the body’s ability to fight infection. When this happens the HIV virus is then knows as acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). When a client has AIDS they can have symptoms such as forgetfulness, confusion and difficulty paying attention. This occurs when the HIV virus has infected the brain causing a condition known as AIDS Dementia Complex (ADC). When a client presents with ADC as a healthcare provider the key aspects of writing up these clients care plans would have a strong emphasis on safety. (Centres for disease control and prevention 2014) John not his real name for privacy reasons is a client who recently presented to the facility where i work with AIDS and has been showing signs of ADC which has made his home life very hard to manage and increasingly unsafe. The ADC has left John with episodes of confusion. As a new client i must first put together Johns care plans as they are vitally important in determining Johns care. These care plans also assist the multidisciplinary team ensure Johns mental and physical needs are met. As a confused client, John may lack the capacity to process the basic activities of daily living (ADL). Therefore as a healthcare provider i would also have to act as an advocate to ensure his needs were met. This can be ensured on a day to day basis by gaining the respect of John and by including him and by gaining his consent on any decisions concerning his care. This may include implementing all relevant care plans. John’s personal hygiene is important in promoting his positive self-image. This can be achieved by the following steps: Always ensure his hands are washed after toileting His face is washed daily He has regular baths or showers His teeth are brushed twice daily John may not want to allow me to carry out some of these duties but to ease the situation i may take a few steps to help in Johns care. Use pleasant smelling shampoo, bubble bath or soap Play music that John likes Always explain as you carry out tasks Be sensitive to Johns mood Always check toilet to ensure it is in working order and the bathroom is not too cold Enquire how John prefers to have these tasks completed (ie bath or shower) Always let john help as much as he can Nutrition care is also very important because the healthier John is physically the less confused he may become. This can be achieved by ensuring John eats regular meals. Sometimes because John is confused he will refuse to eat so it is important the nutritionist is informed in order to provide supplements which can substitute for solid foods. This is vitally important as to force feed clients is unethical so therefore it would be more beneficial to encourage supplement drinks. A urinary output and bowel movement chart is also an essential part of Johns care plan as it helps the multidisciplinary team regulate John’s bodily functions to prevent him from getting constipation or dehydration which would leave John who is confused more confused. Sometimes John may not have the ability to control his own intake of solids or liquids (ie too much or too little) so it is important for a fluid and solids chart to help balance his bodily needs. Falls risk assessments should also be completed and put in practice to ensure Johns safety when he is carrying out his basic activities of daily living. Always assist John when he is attending bathroom or having to move from one area to another Ensure bathroom is clear of clutter when taking John to bathroom for washing or toileting Remove all clutter from Johns bedside (ie ensure all cables are tidied away and walking frame if needed is within his reach ) Ensure John has suitable footwear (ie good fitting with rubber soles to prevent slips) Ensure all bathroom fittings are stable and in good working order Proper handrails are in place to assist Johns needs Walking to and from bathroom is clutter free Other concerns i might have for John is the risk of him developing a pressure sore. Confused/Immobile clients like John are more susceptible to pressure sores through poor nutrition intake and decreased mobility. Measures put in place by the multidisciplinary team to prevent these sores are pressure relieving cushions, mattresses and regular monitoring, and turning of John as to aid his circulation. The Waterlow scale also plays important role in determining who is at risk of developing a pressure sore. All these measures put in place will enhance the physical well-being of John however as healthcare support workers we must provide holistic care for John involving his social and mental well-being. One aspect of holistic care is ensuring John’s spiritual needs are met. This may vary from individual to individual and as a carer we must never be bias towards a client’s personal belief. John’s dignity is vitally important but this may lack because he sometimes gets confused therefore i must act as an advocate and ensure his rights and dignity are met. Simple measures can include making sure privacy is provided when attending personal hygiene needs. At times John may lack the ability to be able to stand safely. Therefore a hoist may have to be used. This could be a frightening experience for John so as the carer it would be vital to use good communicating skills to reassure him of his safety and dignity by insuring the curtain is drawn at these times. Regular checks of John to ensure he remains properly clothed so as to prevent embarrassment for him or his loved ones during visiting times. As John’s carer I would always explain and involve him in decision making involving his clothing when dressing or the type of food he prefers to eat as not to presume I could choose just because he sometimes gets confused. When a client has ADC the usual treatment is a drug cocktail called highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) which reduces the amount of HIV in the blood reducing the damage to the brain. As a carer it is important I monitor the consumption of this medication as John might forget to take it or take too much. Other important factors in treating a person with ADC are to help John stimulate his mind by motivating him with hobbies that he is interested in. It is also important to ensure the family include John in social events such as birthdays, weddings or any event for which he could attend to interact. Interaction, motivation and other therapies that are all beneficial in reorienting a confused client.(WebMD2014) On conclusion by involving John in decision making and implementing the relevant care plans I the carer will ensure holistic safe care and optimise his ability to recover or manage his illness. This is achieved through good communication trough the multidisciplinary team always remembering that John and Johns family are the most important factor of the team. Does Population Growth Pose Threats To Humanity? Over the past decades, population growth has grown significantly and the earths resources are not replenishing fast enough to keep up with the growth rate. Increase in population had put more pressure on the earths resources as they are being used more. Excessive population has led to congestion, poor living conditions, pollution, and general environmental degradation. Research Purpose The main purpose of this paper is to determine how population growth is affected the way we live, our environment and consequently, the sustainability of mans activities. i.e. will the effects of these activities have an effect on the capacity of the earth to sustain humanity? Method of inquiry The method of inquiry for this paper will be literature review. Various literatures by different authors will be used to determine whether population growth does pose a threat to humanity. Limitations of the study The study was limited to the effects of population growth on humanity. Working definitions Humanity Refers to the human species Population Number of species inhabiting an area at a specific time Over population Overpopulation refers to the state where a species inhabiting an area put pressure on the ecosystems as the ecosystems can no longer be able to sustain the population Population growth Refers to the increase in the population of a certain area over time. Environmental degradation Refers to the deterioration of the state of the environment due to mans activities. Scope of Inquiry This paper will cover works of various authors who have written on population growth, over population and the effects of population growth on the environment. Literature Review Effects of population growth on the environment Thomas Malthus argued that means of subsistence affected the increase or decrease of a population. Malthus first brought the population problem to attention; he brought up the issue of food supplies and arithmetical ratios. According to Malthus, while population increased geometrically, food resources would only increase arithmetically. Over time, this theory has proven to be true in the sense that population tends to increase if people have the means of subsistence to maintain the population. i.e. as peoples means of subsistence increase, they significantly increase in population. As human population continuously growing, the biggest issue facing the Earth is the collective demand humans put upon it. Increase in the total population also increased consumption of resources. Besides that, excessive population growth is responsible for many of our Planets issues: traffic congestion, poor living conditions, global warming, employment difficulties, hunger, poverty etc.; it also causes environmental pollution and degradation (Wilson). Yet, land, water, mineral and other natural resources are diminishing due to population growth. As such a large population living on Earth and sharing scarcity of resources like water and food. Humans were compelled extract resources to meet their demands, at the same time, use modern technology abusively to modify the environment. Of all the humans who have ever lived, 6.4 percent are alive today. The number of people is overwhelming natural systems, destroying biodiversity, and challenging efforts to control global warming. Because of the increased availability of family-planning services, fertility is declining worldwide-from 2.56 children per woman at present to a projected 2.02 in 2050 (Wenner). Wild fires have become a common phenomenon due to poor land management, increased carelessness by the people, cutting down of trees leaving large tracts of bare land and many other issues like lack of clear policies governing land use. Fresh water is hard to access due to the increased population and destruction of water catchment areas, which has also led to the loss of biodiversity (Shaw 201). Climate change may occur gradually but some of its effects may be irreversible and in some cases, unstoppable. For example, seas levels are rising due to melting of ice. Some areas have become more prone to the effects of earthquakes due to the excavation of these areas in search of fuels. (Herald). Energy use patterns as a result of population growth Food is a form of energy; however, it is also a consumer of fossil fuel that is used in its production, transportation, and preparation. A study calculated the energy intensity of food production from agriculture, transportation, processing, food sales, storage, and preparation for 2007 as 8080  ± 760 trillion BTU. In 1995, approximately 27% of edible food was wasted, and the study concluded from this that 2030  ± 160 trillion BTU of energy were embedded in the 2007 wasted food (6464). While the above figures only reflect the United states, the overall increased energy use in the whole world has increased at an alarming rate. This is due to the increased energy demands for purposes of industrialization and mechanization. Recent food shortages, blamed in part on the growth of the bio-fuels industry, have created a new awareness of the relationship between food and energy. Over last 50 years we have seen increased agricultural productivity thanks to the adoption of new technologies and inputs, which are largely based on fossil fuels. Minimal human labor is therefore being less used and mechanization has been highly adopted. Mechanization of the agriculture sector, improved fertilizers, more resilient crops, and the development of pesticides, all of which rely on fossil fuels, are the reasons for the increased productivity. The food waste figures do not include food wasted on the farm, in fisheries, and during processing and relies on outdated food consumption and waste data, some of which is from the 1970s (Wenner). Because of economic and population growth, the total amount of food production and consumption has grown since the latest food loss study for 1995, and the portion of income Americans spend on food has dropped. From this, the researchers hypothesized that the current amount of food wasted to be higher compared to the USDAs 1995 estimates. If this is true, addressing food waste represents an opportunity for avoided energy consumption. Population growth has led to heavier traffic, rural urban migration causing urban sprawl, increased depletion of natural resources and increased emission of CFC gases that are responsible for the ozone layer depletion. In the United States, immigration by people from the less developed countries is the main cause of increasing population and it is estimated that over the next four decades population growth caused by immigration will account for 82% of the total population growth. Every year, more than a million people achieve permanent residency and become American Citizens (U.S. Census Bureau). As the immigrants move into the United States, they do not change their consumption patterns and they tend to increase the countrys emission in an alarming rate. The environmental impact of a society can be measured by multiplying the number of people by the capita influence and the index of environmental damages caused by people. The environmental damage of the society in this case could involve the power used in lighting and heating, paper factories that use trees to manufacture paper and many other industries that people have put up for economic reasons. This does not necessarily mean that the highest level of development have cause more environmental damage. Lower and sometimes the lowest levels of development underestimate the environmental impact e.g. most of the poor people use fuel wood for their daily uses. This therefore leads to massive cutting down of trees though this may occur in small stages but over a period of time, the damage made could be far much worse than estimated. Higher developments on the other hand may overestimate environmental damage. This is because most of the industries in most countries have environmental poli cies that have been put in place to safeguard the environment. In most cases, higher developments yield more benefits and do less damage to the environment. Human enterprise has significantly grown from the 19th Century. . There is therefore a need to develop policies to help curb this predicament. As standards of living and life expectancy continue increasing, there has been need for more technological innovations and therefore, industries have led to increased carbon emissions and this continues rising. The forests have been cleared to create more space for development and the natural ecosystems have been thrown out of balance. The coral reefs face are now on the verge of extinction as they face stress form pollutants in the ocean, tourism, fishing and carbonate chemistry which is a result of the increased carbon dioxide in the ocean surface waters (Shaw 205). At the lowly levels of industrialization, energy use perhaps underestimates ecological impact. For instance, underprivileged people can cause severe environmental damage through deforestation in search of firewood. At the uppermost development levels, use of energy probably miscalculate environmental impact; for instance, a given quantity of energy use in Japan, Western Europe, or the US, certainly provides additional benefits with less harm than the same amount used in Russia or Poland due to the greater effectiveness and tighter environmental bylaws. Although these countries pose severe dangers due to increased industrialization, developing countries in Africa affect the environment as people expand their farms for food sufficiency. Conclusion A pioneering analysis of the worlds ecosystems reveals a widespread decline in the condition of the worlds ecosystems due to increasing resource demands. According to the World Resources Institute (WRI) if the decline in the Worlds ecosystems continues, human development and the welfare of all species could be greatly affected in a negative way since the ecosystems capacity to produce food, water , maintain the biodiversity and storage of atmospheric carbon and provision of recreation opportunities would be thoroughly compromised (Wilson). To make matters worse, as our ecosystems decline, we are also racing against time since scientists lack baseline knowledge needed to determine properly the conditions of such systems. Population growth has largely been felt in biodiversity where it is now being considered a primary threat (Wilson). This is because, increased population has led to the introduction of exotic species in a bid to satisfy human needs and wants economically and these exotic species are throwing the delicate ecosystem out of balance. Illegal and unregulated hunting, fishing, and trade in wildlife products are also deleting many species (Wilson). Population growth, therefore, can be considered the greatest threat to humanity it is therefore necessary to curb rapid population to be able to manage our environment and live sustainably. Alternative energy sources also need to be established so as to reduce the dependence on bio-fuels. Work Cited Census Bureau. World Population: 1950-2050. June 28, 2010. Organizational development Essay

Although the main reasons people resist change is the fear of the unknown, breaking routines and incongruent team dynamics, organizational change is necessary if the organization is to remain competitive. Change is a combination of action orientation and research orientation†¦ but most importantly, every organization, whether large or small requires one or more change agents. Organizational development is a set of behavioral science based theories, values, strategies and technologies aimed at planned change of the organizational work setting for the purpose of enhancing individual development and improving organizational performance through the alteration of organizational members on the job behaviors† (Jex, & Britt, 2007. ) Organizational change is necessary if the organization is to remain competitive. Social Psychologist, Kurt Lewin, developed the force field analysis model to help us understand how the change process works. One side of the force field model represents the driving forces that push organizations toward a new state of affairs. â€Å"There are driving forces in the external environment such as globalization, virtual work and a changing workforce. Within these external forces, corporate leaders create driving forces within the organization so the organization anticipates the external factors. Internal originated forces are difficult to apply because they lack external justifications, so effective transformational leadership as well as structural change mechanisms are necessary to legitimate and support internal driving forces†. The other side of Lewins model represents the restraining forces that maintain the status quo. Restraining forces are commonly called â€Å"resistance to change† (McShane & VonGlinlow, 2008), because they appear as employee behaviors that block the change process. Stability will occur when these two forces are equal with each other but in opposite directions. The main reasons people resist change is fear of the unknown, breaking routines and incongruent team dynamics. According to Lewins force field analysis model â€Å"effective change occurs by unfreezing the current situation, moving to a desired condition and then refreezing the system so it remains in this desired state. Unfreezing occurs when the driving forces are stronger than the restraining forces. This happens by making the driving forces stronger, weakening or removing the restraining forces, or a combination of both† (McShane & VonGlinlow, 2008) Creating urgency, which represent the driving forces for change, will push employees out of their comfort zones. Many of top management leaders will buffer their employees from external factors and the result is the employees do not understand the need for change and will resist. â€Å"Employees need to feel an urgency to change; which occurs by informing them about competitors, changing consumer trends, impending government regulations and other driving forces† (McShane & VonGlinlow, 2008) Another way to fuel the urgency to change is by putting employees in direct contact with customers. Dissatisfied customers are a compelling driving force for change because of adverse consequences for the organizations survival and success. Exposing employees to external forces can also strengthen the urgency for change, but a leader needs to begin the change process before problems come knocking. â€Å"Creating an urgency for change when an organization is riding high requires a lot of persuasion and influence that helps employees visualize future competitive threats and environmental shifts† (McShane & VonGlinlow, 2008) Effective change requires more than making employees aware of the driving forces. It involves reducing or removing the restraining forces. There are six ways to overcome employee resistance, communication, learning, employee involvement and stress management. American Industrialist Andrew Carnegie once said â€Å"take away my people and soon grass will grow on the factory floor, take away my factories but leave my people and soon we will have a new and better factory. †( Library of Congress, 2009) Organizations are not buildings, machinery or financial assets; they are the people in them. Organizations are human entities, full of life, sometimes fragile, always exciting.

Amateurism in Ncaa Football

Paranny Aril Crawford Sandin English 101 13 October 2012 Amateurism In NCAA Football The National Collegiate Athletic Association is corrupted with sneakiness, unfairness and greediness, particularly in division one colleges. In North America, sports play a huge role, especially sports like football, hockey, basketball and baseball. Sometimes this causes us to become vanished of fairness, like are the players being treated right? A great example of injustice in sports is amateurism of football players in division one colleges.Division one and division two athletes must obtain amateurism, which is playing the sport as a hobby rather than for the money, many would define amateurism as worthy but it is really tainted and monopolized! Should NCAA athletes get paid? Numerous of people would easily answer no because college athletes are on scholarships and various athletic departments loses money even with a winning record. Also college athletes have advantages with free tuition, books, li ving expenses, food, clothing and health.Although all of these features appear wonderful but there are more cons than pros of amateurism. For example the NCAA is a business that are making money out of these athletes basically for free and yes they do receive tuition but that does not compare to the large amount of money the NCAA is making out of them. According the Stanford Review, college athletic is a multimillion-dollar industry with recruiting the best of the best in the nation. So why not pay the best of the best, if they put in all this hard work, then they should be rewarded.Instead the National Colligate Athletic Association is a monopoly because of its limitation of scholarships and other payments to boost its college sports program. Also not all of the athletes receive scholarships. College football players put in more work on the field than they do in the classrooms. For example when in season they have five-hour practices and that doesn’t include lifting for an h our and this is from Tuesday to Friday with game day on Saturday. After the season is over then they begin spring all which is just only practices and plus they don’t have a summer break because they have to stay for summer ball. We consider college athletes as student athletes but that is such an oxymoron because in realty their sport does come before their schoolwork. When playing in a big division one school, most athletes believe to make it in the big leagues but sadly only about 2% makes it. Colleges should stress more on education for so call student athletes but they don’t because of the athlete’s popularity and how the NCAA is making money out of them regardless if they have a future afterward or not. It’s horrible how the NCAA contract includes that when an athlete commits and decides to transfer to play for another school then they have to sit out a year. This rule is so unfair because coaches don’t have to do that. The NCAA is the biggest monopoly in America according to Bloomberg Businessweek Magazine. When selling college souvenirs and jerseys, videogames, etc and the athlete does not make any money from that, even if they are the main reason for those sales. It is amazing that most players receive a free education but does not compare to what the NCAA is making off of them. The players should receive a cut of these profits or gain a portion of this money after graduation so it can help them financially with their futures. Sadly the NCAA is too considerate of themselves and if an athlete is injure or not performing well then they have no problem wiping their name off the record books. The National Collegiate Athletic Association is a business that makes tons of money from college athletes. Another reason why the NCAA doesn’t pay their athletes is because they will be tax and they can lose a lot of money from that.Well, professional sports obviously pay their athletes and they are tax too but the professional leagues are doing well. College basketball and college football are highly talked about and televised just like the professional sports so it shouldn’t be a problem if college athletes get paid. With amateurism in college sports, athletic programs cheat. They secretly cheat by illegally over paying top players or handing them out free stuff. For instance Cam Newton who was an All-American quarterback playing for Auburn and Mississippi before was secretly offered 120,000 to 18,000 from Mississippi State.Playing in top division one colleges, â€Å"winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing† and if athletic programs will cheat to have the best recruits and this is no surprise. If amateurism didn’t exist, there wouldn’t be any cheating scandals and every player will treated equally from their performance. According to Bordin (1979), working alliance was teamwork between the client and the helper committed to their goals and activities that were discussed in sessions. Bedi (2006) has stated that the researcher has praised the therapist views on being the helper versus no praises to the client views. Unlike, Bedi’s study expressed how client valued the helping setting, helper’s self-presentation, helper’s education, helper’s appreciation of the client, self-responsibility, and environment of the session. Leadership of Change Typologies of Leadership

Question: Describe about the Leadership of Change for Typologies of Leadership. Answer: 1. The four typology explained in the book of Grint is very useful in defining leadership. Leadership can be defined as position based, person based, result based and process based leadership. Examples of the four typologies of leadership will be reflected in this part. Position based leadership: According to me, this type of leadership is defined as the responsibility of a person who is present in a higher hierarchy in an organization. The leader will be engaged in some activities that portrays leadership in charge. This type of leadership is developed according to the dimension of position. I feel that this leadership is developed both formally and informally and in horizontally or vertically constituted way. It is characterized by centralization of power and resources. CEO of a company is considered as best example of position based leadership (Head Alford, 2015). For instance, Marks Zuckerberg, CEO and founder of Facebook is recognizes as apposition based leader. Person based leadership: This type of leadership describes the character of a person in the particular style. I think that person based leadership defines the nature of the person. The character and nature of a person have a significant impact on the style of leadership. I have seen that the great leaders across the world have their own charismatic style of leadership. For instance, Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple has his own leadership style that is not described by implementation of a single theory (Heikka et al., 2013). Result based leadership: It focuses on the activities of a leader i.e. the capability of a leader in translating a vision into reality. According to me result based leaders are effective in terms of works and their functionality in managing a team. Many leaders are result oriented in their own field of operations. Herb Kelleher is recognized as one of the most famous result based leader. He has immense contribution in the development of Southwest Airlines in earning a high reputation in the market. Process based leadership: This form of leadership illustrates the relationship between the leader and the form of practice. The activities of the leader matters a lot in this case. A process-based leader is one who has his own influence in leading a team along with other individuals. It will help them in achieving goals. For instance, leaders of Boeing are recognized as process based leaders (Cardno Youngs, 2013). 2. The concept of leadership is related with various dimensions. There are many theories and elements of leadership that explains different styles of leadership. I have seen instances of many leaders that have faced many difficulties in their field of work. It is the talent of the leader to tackle the situation in a tactful and smart way. Global organizations like Google, 3M, Microsoft, Coca Cola, Mc Donalds, Southwest Airlines, etc. practice leadership in their organizations. There are many scopes of an organization if they have ample leaders in their organizations. Leaders are not only developed at senior levels but also developed in junior and mid-level management. In fact, successful organizations have leaders in different level of management. There are different types of leadership that are practiced among different renowned leaders of the world (Christensen et al., 2014). The most popular styles are transformational, democratic, autocratic, participative, laissez-faire, situati onal, servant, transactional leadership. The leaders of different multinational companies are found to practice their style of leadership in order to improve the performance of the team. People associated with an organization have their level of expectations. It is the responsibility of the organization to look after their employees. Employees are considered as assets to the company. Strategic management department of organizations are responsible for formulating various strategies regarding different issues of the enterprise. The quotation that is mentioned regarding leadership distinguishes different types of leadership is related to the ability to understand people about their queries and task delegations. It is argued that the leaders who speak more words are found to be more popular among its subordinates. On the contrary, the executives who speak less are not considered as good leader among the organization. The team members and the employees of the organization have the power to select their leader in their department (Stahl et al., 2013). There are different renowned leaders that are known for their convincing power that helps in breaking the resistance of the employees who are not supporting the change in the company. The human nature sees negative in every outlook at first. Most of the human beings are worried about the ill effects of a situation. The leaders have the responsibility to remove the negativity among the minds of the employees. It requires extensive conversation between the team members and the supervisors. There will be confusion in the minds of the people regarding a single topic. Hence, problem will arise in these situations. Lack of cooperation with the executives and the other members will result too many problems. If the leader is not cooperative with the followers and subordinates, then the problem faced within the team will not be solved. Team members will not be able to ask their query about the problems faced by them (Kennedy et al., 2013). The leaders must talk to the subordinates and followers. More communication will help in solving more issues. The leadership issues are due to the snappy and short answers from the leaders. They think that this is a smart act. However, i n the organizational level it is not at all a smart work. 3. Leadership has different elements such as mindset, knowledge, performance, service, growth and wisdom. Based on the elements of leadership, the definition of leadership cannot be defined using a single theory. The mindset of the leaders determines the way of responding and interpreting a situation. Performance is related to the activities of a leader. Knowledge is a vital aspect that helps a leader to grow his skills and team as a whole. Authority flows from a people who have knowledge. Personal development leads to growth of leadership. The vital approach of leadership is to grow the subordinates along with the leader (Jarvis et al., 2013). 4. It is seen that national culture or organizational culture has significant impact on the dynamics of leadership. Many points are illustrated through the cultural issues of leadership in New Zealand such as power, culture, resistance, unintended consequences, monocultures, etc. The descriptive case will be based on an actual situation based on an incident. The situation is faced by the managing director of HR Shop in the field of leadership. Samantha Gadd is the managing director of HR Shop who is facing the issue in the field of leadership. It is seen that the challenges of leadership are found in global companies that are scattered in many countries of the world (Khan et al., 2013). It is now considered as top of the challenges that global leaders are facing. Companies like Deloitte, PWC have conducted market research on many countries of the world regarding the leadership issues. The research report suggested that 90% of the business leaders have witnessed that their businesses and companies. The research of Deloitte reported that they have surveyed over 7000 business leaders and human resource managers across 130 countries of the world. Organizations of New Zealand have stated that leadership problems are the second biggest problem that is facing by them at organizational level. Samantha Gadd confesses that leadership issues are the daily issues in the organization. The shared value of leadership is the main problem the organization is facing in its strategic level (Nica, 2013). The organizational culture is an issue that the leaders and the employees are facing in terms of shared leadership. The leadership dynamics of the senior management of the company is affected by the lack of communication. The managing director of the company itself finds problem in the leadership style practiced by other contemporary leaders that are present in the company. Organizational culture is a vital aspect that is practiced by every organization at the strategic level. It is the responsibility of every employee of the enterprise to have a clear understanding of the organizational culture. Culture is very important for understanding the nature of the business of the company. It will help in increased performance of the company. Due to lack of communication between the supervisors and team members, team performers are not able to gain a perfect understanding of the leadership style (Thorn, 2012). In many circumstances, the leaders have a lack of understanding of organizational culture. Power has a vital role in defining leadership. Samantha in her own business used collaborative leadership style. According to her, she is up skilling her competencies of leadership. The workers of the company have a problem with their CEO due to lack of communication. Lack of interactions with the employees is the reason of failure in leadership. Samantha in this situation lacks the power of maintaining the employees of her organization (Henderson et al., 2015). Employees do not adopt the changes that she wanted to bring in the company. Resistance has worked in the mind of the employees. They are familiar with the old process of their working style. Some of the employees are not confident enough to accept new changes in their working procedure. This situation is really a tough situation for the CEO of the company. It is also due to lack of power in controlling the employees. From this situation, it is evident that the other supervisors or the executives of the company are not competent enough to manage their respective teams in a proper way. If the management is proper, then there will not be any problem in leadership dynamics by the company (Lee et al., 2013). It leads to misunderstanding among the team players and the supervisors. The consequences of this incident are not good. The CEO of the company is not expecting these consequences. The ill consequences results in decreased and ill productivity. These consequences can be proved fatal if they continue for a longer span of time. Encouraging monoculture is another cross-cultural issue that the company is practicing. It is an ill practice of leadership. Monoculture is not an updated form of practice in organization. In this scenario, people of diverse cultural background will face problem in mixing with the people that belongs from New Zealand. This is the reason of emerging the leadership issues in the company HR Shop in New Zealand (Van Wart, 2013). 5. The leadership dynamics all over the world is a vital topic of discussion. It has various forms. Leaders and organizations in the competitive business world have utilized the skills and competencies of leadership in order to develop employees as well as profitability of the company. The above problem faced by the managing director of the company HR Shop is a problem related to collaborative leadership issues. However, if the scenario is viewed from the perspective of the MD of the company, then the initiative taken by her is not wrong (Hogg et al., 2012). Issues of leadership emerge due to change of thinking procedure of employees. It is seen that, the company has now solved the issue and is listed as one of the top 50 fastest growing companies of New Zealand. Deloitte publishes the research report. The list of problems can be in the field of knowledge sharing, strategic planning, emotional intelligence, listening and change management. These issues are linked with the power, cult ure, resistance, and monoculture. Many organizations are facing problems in their strategic level. It is not a common problem in the organizations of New Zealand. The situation is a temporary problem that can be solved by taking few steps related to the problem (Johnson, 2013). The style of leadership that is previously followed in the organization is a type of autocratic leadership style. In modern business world, one type of leadership does not serve the purpose of the existing problems of the employees in organizations. Leadership experts argued that the forms of leadership styles in enterprises must change according to the nature of the employees and the business trends. Change is the thing that is only constant thing helping in business to sustain this competitive business world (Marshall, 2013). Leadership is also positively related to change management. In the above case of the company of New Zealand, change management is not implemented properly. It is due to the leadership issues of the managing director of HR Shop. Communication problem or gap in communication leads to misunderstanding of the message that is conveyed by the managing director to the other employees (Weisband, 2013). However, it can be critically argued that the organization does no t have a collaborative organization culture. The executives and the senior management do not have a transparent and clear communication between the junior employees. It is not a sign of an effective leader. Apart from practicing autocratic leadership, it is suggested that situational and participative leadership could help in solving the problems. Participative leadership style includes all the people in the decision making process of the company. For instance, the marketing department of a company must entertain the proposals regarding different aspects of marketing activities. It would yield to best result, as they are the persons that are engaged with the frontline activities. Engagement with the customers leads to know the needs and demands of the customer in the market. The strategies are made for the benefit of the customers. However, the junior managers are responsible for interaction with the end level consumers of the goods the company is selling (Schalock Verdugo, 2012). The participative leadership along with situational leadership will be the best suited form of leadership style that is suited to the HR Shop for solving the issue of failed collaborative leadership. there ar e many companies around the world that have their particular form of leadership but they change with the change in the business needs, Apple, Google, 3M, etc. are the companies that are known for their effective leadership in their organizational level (Hopkins et al., 2014). Leadership is required to be formulated with other concepts of HR such as change management, employee relations, etc. Change management among these HR practices is the popular practice that are argued by many leadership experts around the world. Various forms of leadership are aligned with the processes of change management. Many organizations including HR Shop of New Zealand are implementing different approaches of change management but they are not getting the desired result (Storey, 2016). There is a varied difference between the results expected and the actual results of change management. It is due to the lack of customization of the process. Theoretical frameworks in maximum cases do not yield fruitful results. The situation and the circumstances of every organization are different. Hence, the degree of implementation is also different. Organizations must change the forms of the approaches and steps of the theories of leadership and change management. References Cardno, C., Youngs, H. (2013).
